HOLLYWOOD – IS – A- SCORPIO. Some might find that a strange sentence. I didn’t. I knew it was true, the moment I thought of it.
I was riding my Gary Fisher mountain bike down the wide sidewalks of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, which is a suburb that’s about a ten minute hop from Hollywood over the Cahuenga Pass. Suddenly I realized that HOLLYWOOD IS A SCORPIO. It made perfect sense. Hollywood has always made films about sex and death which are attributes of Scorpio. From romantic comedies to dramas, monster movies, horror films, thrillers and teen-age sex comedies. They’re all about sex or death in one way or another. And if the actors wanting to be in these films don’t make it in Hollywood, they’re just a short drive up the 170 freeway, over 118 and they’re right there in Canoga Park the porno capitol of the world. Films still about sex, just without the death. Sad but true.
Sex sells. So I knew that when I looked up the date of Hollywood’s incorporation that I would find that it was indeed in the time of Scorpio. In other words, Hollywood’s birthday. And of course that “still small voice” in my head is never wrong, so sure enough HOLLYWOOD was born on November 14, 1903… in the sign of SCORPIO. So HOLLYWOOD IS IN INDEED A SCORPIO. That’s astrology… Even the day number 14 equals 5 (1+4) and is ruled by MERCURY the planet of COMMUNICATION, so it’s about COMMUNICATING SEX AND DEATH. And to make things even more interesting, the tree that is ruled by the sign of SCORPIO is THE HOLLY TREE, so HOLLY TREE = HOLLYWOOD. And being that my book is about the esoteric and occulted science called astrology, HOLLYWOOD being ruled by the secretive, seductive, and spiritual sign SCORPIO makes all the sense in the world, and also in the heavens. And since most Hollywood films are MARSIAN in nature, the I AM, of ARIES, or the one who must win, or the I DESIRE of SCORPIO who wants REVENGE, it makes sense that most Hollywood films come under MARS the planet of WAR and CONFLICT and the one that rules ARIES and SCORPIO. The direct and indirect warriors as one is MASCULINE and the other FEMININE. One ruled by the day and the other by night.
And since we are talking about SCORPIO, perhaps we should take a closer look at one of the most used negative archetypes of that sign in films, and that is the SECRETIVE, CRUEL, MASTERMIND OF THE UNDERWORLD in SCORPIO-OVERLORD OF THE UNDERWORLD.
